Kyoung Sun Moon is Associate Professor at Yale University School of Architecture. He received a B.S. from Seoul
National University, an M.Arch. and an M.S.C.E. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Ph.D.
from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Moon’s background includes work at Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill in Chicago and the Republic of Korea Navy. Dr. Moon’s primary research area is integration between the art and
science/technology of architecture, with a focus on tall buildings. Dr. Moon’s research articles on tall buildings have
appeared in many scholarly journals, such as The Structural Design of Tall and Special Buildings, Engineering
Structures, Journal of Architectural Engineering, Architectural Science Review, International Journal of Sustainable
Building Technology and Urban Development, and Journal of Urban Technology. Dr. Moon has also presented
research papers on tall buildings in numerous relevant international conferences including the 8 th and 9th Council on
Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat World Congresses held in Dubai and Shanghai, respectively. Dr. Moon is a member of the American Institute of Architects and the American Society of Civil Engineers Committee on Tall Buildings.

Syed Atik Ahmad is the General Manager of PROYA Software & Trade Inc. He received his B.S in Civil Engineering from the Middle East Technical University and his Masters in Engineering Sciences from the same
university. His primary interests and expertise revolves around the design of industrial buildings, earthquake
engineering, 3D modelling of plants and Project Management. Since beginning his career in 1991 he has
worked extensively on many industrial projects like power plants, cement factories and iron and steel plants etc.
Presently he is focusing on integrating data rich 3D models with classical project management techniques like
CPM and PERT to facilitate the follow up of complicated projects. He is also heading a team of software engineers for the last 12 years in developing a state of the art multidisciplinary analysis, design, detailing and project management software for the construction industry. The team has successfully developed cutting edge
algorithms to speed up data intensive number crunching which lies at the heart of 3D modelling and Finite element analyses.

Doç. Dr. Özgür Kurç, ODTÜ İnşaat Mühendisliği Bölümü, Yapı ve Deprem Mühendisliği Laboratuvarı’nda 2006
yılından beri görev yapmaktadır. Lisans derecesini ODTÜ İnşaat Mühendisliği Bölümü, yüksek lisans derecesini
yine ODTÜ İnşaat Mühendisliği Bölümü, Yapı Mühendisliği Dalı’ndan alan Özgür Kurç, doktora çalışmalarını
Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, ABD’de tamamlamıştır. Doktora eğitimi sırasında BLA Engineers firmasında yapı mühendisi olarak çalışmış, içerisinde Atlanta Uluslararası Havaalanı Terminali’nin de bulunduğu
çeşitli çelik, art-germe ve betonarme yapıların tasarımında yer almıştır. Dr. Kurç’un araştırma alanları içerisinde
yapı mühendisliğinde bilgisayar uygulamaları, sonlu elemanlar yöntemi, yapısal modelleme, rüzgar ve deprem
mühendisliği sayılabilir. Bu alanlarda uluslararası saygın dergilerde ve konferanslarda çeşitli yayınlara sahip Dr.
Kurç, Libya, Azerbaycan, Rusya, Amerika ve Türkiye’de tasarlanan çok sayıda yüksek bina projesinde danışman olarak yer almıştır. Doç Dr. Özgür Kurç, ODTÜ bünyesinde kurulan Rüzgar Enerjisi Merkezi’nde
(RÜZGEM) yönetim kurulu üyesidir.
