This advanced seminar is designed to give graduate students a broad
perspective on Turkey‟s relations with the EU. The course aims a
systematical assessment of the nature of Turkey-EU relations across
various issue areas.

organizations to enlarge

influence the process of enlargement

relations in a historical perspective
5. Will be able to explain the changes in the institutional structure
over time

Turkey‟s EU accession process

Course Content
(Short definition)
:
In this course Turkey‟s relations with the EU will be analyzed in regards
to its various dimensions such as security, economic and social.
Historical, legal, institutional and international contextual perspectives
will be discussed for explaining each dimension.

integration and to develop intellectual interest
To evaluate and discuss the problems and circumstances about
European integration by using theoretical and practical knowledge in

fundamental disciplines of EU studies such as political science, law,
