Protection in the Urban Context FUNCTIONS: The incumbent would normally receive guidance from more senior Project staff in the operation. The incumbent normally supervises some support staff. S/he may receive indirect guidance from other sections and units relevant to the country Projects(s). The incumbent is expected to have contacts within the organization and outside the duty station, as well as with the beneficiary, partners and other stakeholders to collect information, monitor Project activities and implement administrative requirements under the Project. RESPONSIBILITIES: • • • • • • • • • • • Undertake proper collection, monitoring and use of indicators and expected results of the Project and share regular information with the Reporting Associate in order to ensure effective implementation of the project; Assist in organizing and documenting a consultative process between UNHCR and other partners to ensure a consistent implementation of the activities for achievement of the objectives. Assist in managing the development of a broad network of partners, good coordination practices and the development of partner capacities. Assist PDU in design and implementation of the plan of activities and report regularly on the challenges and progress recorded in realisation of the activities; Assist in keeping donor representatives briefed on developments and assist in the development of funding submissions, appeals and reports. Support PDU in design and delivery of training activities, meetings and seminars; Conduct researches on various topics for collection of information to be utilised for preparation of guidance documents and training materials; Prepare needs assessments to identify training needs in order to share with the project team; Undertake field missions in preparation and implementation of the Project activities and inform the project leader on the coordination established between the relavant parties; Make proposals to the team leader on the steps to be taken in order to expand the impact of the Project; Assist PDU in preparation of inception reports, donor briefings, steering committee meetings; Perform other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and skills: • • Completion of Secondary education and post-secondary training/ certificate in Business Administration, Social Sciences, International Law or related field Computer skills (in MS office) Required Competencies: • Analytical Thinking • Planning and Organizing Experience: • Minimum 11 years of previous job experience relevant to the function Languages: • Excellent knowledge of Turkish and fluency in English. • Knowledge of other UN languages is an asset. Desirable Qualifications & Competencies • Completion of the UNHCR Learning programmes or specific training relevant to functions of the position. • Good knowledge of UNHCR financial rules, procedures and processes. • Knowledge of UNHCR specific programmes (MSRP, Focus, etc.). • Prior exposure to UNHCR refugee operations and functions relating to office administration and programme activities.
