JUBILEJ MUZIČKE
AKADEMIJE U SLAVU
ponuditi i zrnce revitalizacije?
Okupljajući mlade i talentirane studente, nastavnike i saradnike
ova institucija predstavlja nepresušni mikrokosmos potencijala,
koji unatoč finansijskim ograničenjima i sivilu vremena u
kome djeluje uspijeva dati otpor jednoličnom i jednostranom
sagledavanju stvarnosti u kojoj je umjetnost smještena
na marginu društvenog dešavanja. Unatoč ograničenjima
društveno-političke, ekonomske i kulturne prirode, kojima
je opterećeno bh. društvo, Muzička akademija uspijeva
odgovoriti izazovima umjetničkog kvaliteta namećući ga kao
jedini logičan izbor u kreaciji svog djelovanja. Ideje i vizije
vrijednosti pomjerene.
koncertne aktivnosti studenata,
afirmiraih bh. umjetnika
Posebnu dimenziju ozbiljnosti daje i kontinuirano
kvalitetan odabir koncertnog programa koji redovito obuhvata
različite muzičke stilove i žanrove sa željom upoznavanja
javnosti s bogatim i raznovrsnim svijetom muzičke literature.
U prilog tome govore i planirane izvedbe Fantastične sifmonije
senzaciju. Potrebno je skrenuti pažnju i na praizvedbu
opere Zmaj od Bosne bosanskohercegovačkog kompozitora
Asima Horozića, čime Akademija direktno iskazuje agilnost
u pomaganju bosanskohercegovačkog kompozitorskog

stvaralaštva. Naučna dimenzija programa biti će zadovoljena
organiziranjem simpozija Žene nositeljice tradicijske prakse
i Položaj muzičke pedagogije i umjetnosti u savremenom bh.
društvu: profesori Muzičke akademije u umjetnosti i nauci,
javnosti. U prilog sveobuhvatnosti programa govore i ljetne
škole violončela i flaute kojima će rukovoditi eminentni bh.
pedagozi i predavači na Muzičkoj akademiji Sarajevo Jevgenij
Ksaverjev i Sakib Lačević, nesebično dijeleći svoje umjetničko
iskustvo s mladim muzičkim naraštajima.
Jedno je sigurno: ambiciozno koncipiran program proslave
jubileja, popraćen umjetničkim, naučnim i pedagoškim
cjelokupna bh. javnost. Stoga ne preostaje ništa drugo do pozvati
sve ljubitelje umjetnosti otvorenog uma i srca, što, pretvoreno
u umjetnički i životni aktivizam, znači biti optimista i mijenjati
budućnost, da podrže i zajedno s Muzičkom akademijom
proslave jubilej kojim se slavi istinski umjetnički kvalitet!

Can art offer even a grain of revitalization in a lethargic social
and cultural environment that continuously reflects a chaotic
image of BH reality? Judging by the commitment and efforts
that Academy of Music in Sarajevo invests into organizing its
activities, the answer is certainly yes! By gathering young and
gifted students, teachers and associates this institution is an
inexhaustible microcosm of potential, which despite financial
restrictions and grayness of the time it works in manages to
resist the dull and one-sided view of reality where arts are placed
on the margin of social happenings. Despite the limitations of
social, political, economic and cultural nature that BH society
is burdened with, Music Academy manages to responds to
challenges of artistic quality, imposing it as the only logical
choice in the creation of its activity. Academy ideas and visions
prove that arts can and, in the context of our environment must
be a medium that makes this world a better place! For Academy,
it is a matter of principle, responsibility and desire to activate
the very last atom of strength and creation in order to inject
into our cultural life the necessary infusion of quality, all aimed
at creating an atmosphere that would act as a counterbalance
to the time when social, ethical and thus cultural values have
shifted.
The program of celebration the sixtieth anniversary of
Academy of Music is conceived as extending the limits of our
own possibilities, as well as possibilities of BH society, which
will face the challenge of hearing some of the most significant
masterpieces of world music literature, as well as the world
of music science and music pedagogy. By uniting concert
activities by students, renowned BH artists and lecturers at
Academy of Music, as well as May Music Festivities, Sarajevo
Chamber Music Festival, Sarajevo Sonic Studio and Sarajevo
Guitar Festival, this institution imposes itself as one of key
creators of the musical life in BiH and the region. A special
dimension of seriousness is also provided by the constantly
high-quality selection of concert program, which regularly
includes different musical styles and genres, in the desire to
familiarize the public with the rich and diverse world of music
literature. This is supported by the scheduled performances of
Fantastic Symphony by Hector Berlioz, and musical Mamma
mia, which are a true rarity, even a sensation of a kind for the
circumstances of Sarajevo musical life. Attention should also
be drawn to the first performance of opera Zmaj od Bosne by
BH composer Asim Horozić, whereby Academy directly shows
its agility in supporting BH composing creations. The scientific
dimension of the program will be satisfied by organizing
symposia Women carriers of traditional practice and Position of
music pedagogy and art in contemporary BH society; Academy
of Music professors in arts and science, as well as through
promoting Proceedings on the occasion of 110 anniversary of
Jelena Dopuđa’s birth, and other editions by Academy of Music
in Sarajevo and Musicological Society of FBiH, which will
provide a significant contribution both to the BH music science
and to a broader reading audience. The comprehensiveness of
the program is further proved by summer schools of violoncello
and flute that will be run by prominent BH pedagogues and
lecturers at Academy of Music Jevgenij Xaverjev and Sakib
Lačević, selflessly sharing their artistic experience with young
musical generations.
One thing is certain: the ambitiously conceived program
of jubilee celebration, accompanied by artistic, scientific and
pedagogical contents transforms Academy of Music in Sarajevo
into a brand that the entire BH public can be proud of on
regional and broader scale. Therefore, we can only invite all
the art lovers of open minds and hearts which, translated into
artistic and life activism means being an optimist and changing
the future, to support and celebrate, together with Academy of
Music, the jubilee that celebrates the true artistic quality!

60. GODINA MUZIČKE
AKADEMIJE U SARAJEVU
HISTORIJA
Muzička akademija u Sarajevu osnovana je Odlukom Narodne
skupštine Bosne i Hercegovine na sjednici Republičkog
vijeća od 20. V 1955. Ova Odluka je objavljena 8. VI 1955. u
Službenom listu NR BiH br. 12/55, a potpisao ju je Đuro PucarStari. Matičari Akademije bili su: Milenko Živković, rektor
Muzičke akademije u Beogradu, dr. Dragotin Cvetko, profesor
Akademije za glasbo u Ljubljani, Natko Devčić, profesor
Muzičke akademije u Zagrebu, Cvjetko Rihtman, direktor
Instituta za proučavanje folklora u Sarajevu, Miroslav Špiler,
profesor Više pedagoške akademije u Sarajevu i Strahinja
Dramušić, inspektor Savjeta za prosvjetu, nauku i kulturu NR
BiH, kao zapisničar.
Formirana je uprava Akademije u sastavu: Cvjetko Rihtman,
Miroslav Špiler, Aleksandar Segedi, Mladen Pozajić, Božidar
Trudić, Matusja Blum, Bruna Špiler i Vlasta Debelić. Za
prvog rektora izabran je prof. Cvjetko Rihtman. Akademija je
smještena u prostor samostana milosrdnih sestara sv. Augustina
u ulici Svetozara Markovića (danas Josipa Stadlera) br. 1.
nastave 19. XII 1955.
Prema Odluci o osnivanju osnovna misija Muzičke akademije
bila je edukacija visokokvalifikovanih stručnjaka u oblasti
muzičke umjetnosti, podizanje kvaliteta postojećeg nastavnog
kadra, unaprijeđenje muzičke umjetnosti i podizanje i širenje
muzičke kulture u širokim narodnim masama. Prvi rektor
impuls razvoju muzičkog obrazovanja i muzičke kulture u BiH,
a i šire. Govoreći o kadrovskom razvoju i rezultatima, prilikom
proslave 20-godišnjice, dekan mr. Zdravko Verunica, naglasio
podržavala u razvoju i daljem stručnom usavršavanju (...)
pokazala kao ispravna i plodonosna.” A u povodu obilježavanja
materijalnih nego i kulturnih potreba (...), muzika još nema u
devastacija, osipanje kadra i studenata, blokada, siromaštvo
i stradanje. Na kraju 1995. na Akademiji je ostalo svega 15
nastavnika od prijeratnih 64. Na sve četiri godine studija
sljedeće školske godine upisano je 82 studenta. Takvu kadrovsku
univerzitetu. Posljedice osjećamo i danas!
U školskoj godini kada slavimo 60 godina postojanja na
Muzičkoj akademiji studira 311 studenata na Prvom, Drugom
i Trećem ciklusu studija, radi 82 nastavnika i saradnika u
punom radnom odnosu i angažovanih po ugovoru o djelu i 12
zaposlenika u administraciji. Studenti stiču znanja i vještine
a svoje sjedište ima i Muzikološko društvo FBiH. Akademija je
osnivač ansambala i organizator umjetničkih seminara, škola,
radionica, festivala.
bh. tradicionalnoj i umjetničkoj muzici i muzičkoj nauci, jedna
Chamber Music Festival i Sarajevo Chamber Music Institut
(od 2011), Sarajevo Sonic Studio (od 2013), pokretač značajnih
naučnih projekata (Fundamentalna istraživanja za muziku
u BiH, završen 2010, Leksikon muzičara u BiH, štampan
Abecedarij, 2010, Obrada Arhiva Cvjetka Rihtmana i sl.),
izdavač brojnih kompakt diskova i pisanih izdanja, potpisnica
je dvadesetijednog međunarodnog sporazuma o saradnji s
drugim akademijama u bližem i daljem okruženju, učesnica
u evropskom Tempus programu InMusWB (završen 2014),
naši studenti i nastavnici učestvuju u radu domaćih i stranih
međunarodnih muzičkih skupova različitog karaktera, iskreni
saradnik Sarajevske filharmonije i Opere Narodnog pozorišta
u Sarajevu, čvrst oslonac u saradnji sa srednjim i osnovnim
muzičkim školama u Federaciji i Bosni i Hercegovini itd. itd. Ali
i bliskim kontaktima s evropskim muzičkim institucijama i
ekspertima itd., itd.
PERSPEKTIVE
U prostoru od 1037,22 m2, a po studentu 3,5 m2, u nedovoljnoj
kadrovskoj popunjenosti, u situaciji nedovoljne društvene
zainteresiranosti pojačanoj ekonomskom i političkom krizom,
institucija u BiH. U smislu kompetencije i kompeticije naš
umjetničku i naučnu praksu. Perspektiva naše budućnosti jeste
evropski prostor visoke muzičke edukacije, koji zahtijeva
snažnu društvenu potporu, koju trenutno naravno nemamo, ali i
snažnu angažiranost nas samih, studenata, nastavnika, saradnika,
administracije, odnosno svakog pojedinca kojemu Akademija
jeste mjesto njegove životne sreće. Mobilizacija svakoga
pojedinca i svih unutarnjih pojedinačnih znanja i vještina, volje,
vremenski prostor, mogao odvesti u neke evropske muzičke
prostore.
dakle, s tom životnom i akademskom logikom, pedagoškim
stavom, umjetničkim zanosom i naučnom strogošću, dakle
jednom opštom filozofijom cjeline u kojoj je bitan svaki
pojedinačni element, možemo prevazići sami sebe i dostići
evropske kreativne vrhunce.
Iz moga profesorskog i dekanskog iskustva, naši kreativni
vrhuci još nisu dosegnuti i u tome vidim našu šansu i
edukacije, možemo sebe i naše studente, zbog kojih i jesmo,
učiniti zadovoljnim barem za ono vrijeme dok ih obučavamo,
ako ne i za cijeli profesionalni život.
Na ovoj misaonoj i praktičnoj pozadini želim na ovom mjestu,
gdje kreiramo i javnosti predstavljamo događaje programa
proslave pod jedinstvenim sloganom: budimo optimisti,
mijenjajmo budućnost, svakom od nas u povodu naših 60 godina
mladosti ličnu životnu i stvaralačku sreću, institucionalni prodor
u nova područja visoke muzičke edukacije i opšti društveni
status Akademije dostojan njena imena, kulturne misije i nas
koji djelujemo u njoj.

60 YEARS OF ACADEMY
OF MUSIC IN SARAJEVO
HISTORY
Academy of Music in Sarajevo was founded pursuant to the
Decision of People’s Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina at
the session of the Republic Council of 20/05/1955. The Decision
was published in the Official Gazette of the People’s Republic
of Bosnia and Herzegovina (NR BiH) no. 12/55 of 08/06/1955,
and was signed by Đuro Pucar-Stari. Academy founders were:
Milenko Živković, Rector of Academy of Music in Belgrade; dr.
Dragotin Cvetko, professor at Academy of Music in Ljubljana;
Natko Devčić, professor at Academy of Music in Zagreb;
Cvjetko Rihtman, Director of Institute for Folk Art Research
in Sarajevo; Miroslav Špiler, professor at Teachers’ College in
Sarajevo; and Strahinja Dramušić, inspector at the Council of
Education, Science and Culture of NR BiH as the minute-taker.
Academy management was appointed, as follows: Cvjetko
Rihtman, Miroslav Špiler, Aleksandar Segedi, Mladen Pozajić,
Božidar Trudić, Matusja Blum, Bruna Špiler and Vlasta Debelić.
Prof. Cvjetko Rihtman was appointed the first rector. Academy
was stationed in the premises of the Monastery of St. Augustin
merciful sisters in Svetozara Markovića Street (at present, Josip
Stadler Street) number 1.
In mid-November 1955, first admission exams were organized.
Out of a total of 49 applicants, 42 students were admitted. Out
of this number, 25 were from Sarajevo, 8 from other parts of
BiH, 9 from other Yugoslav Republics, while one student was
a foreign citizen. This fulfilled the basic requirements for the
beginning of classes on 19/12/1955.
Pursuant to the Decision on Foundation, the basic mission of
Music Academy was to educate highly qualified professionals in
the area of music art, raise the quality of the existing teaching
staff, improve the music art and spread musical culture among
people. The first rector Cvjetko Rihtman said the following at the
beginning of its activity: “Youth, particularly of Sarajevo, are
given the opportunity to acquire education for various musical
professions at home (…). Few people could afford to study away
from home. Out of the highly qualified musicians who worked
in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the time, only a couple were from
these regions. Academy of Music will radically change this
ratio.”
Over a very short period of time, Academy of Music gave
a strong impetus to the development of music education and
musical culture in BiH and broader. Speaking of human
resources development and results on the occasion of the 20th
anniversary, Dean mr. Zdravko Verunica stressed that “the
orientation to our own forces, to talented and capable young
people from this environment, whom the Academy accepted
and supported in their development and further professional
advancement (…) proved to be correct and fruitful.” And on the
occasion of the 30th anniversary of Academy activities, Cvjetko
Rihtman said the following at one of his appearances: “Musical
life is still not in the focus of our public’s attention (…), its social
role is scarcely discussed (…), the concept of better life includes
a higher level of both material and cultural needs (…), in our
society’s eyes music still does not have the value it deserves.”
CONDITIONS
Between the beautiful past, shaky present and uncertain future,
we have experienced the war, aggression, overall devastation,
dissipation of human resources and students, blockade, poverty
and suffering. By the end of 1995, Academy was left with only
15 teachers out of the pre-war 64. In the next academic year,
only 82 students were admitted to all the four years of study.
Few faculties of Sarajevo University experienced such human
resources devastation. We can feel the consequences even to
this day!
In the academic year when we celebrate 60 years of activity
of Academy of Music, a total of 311 students study at the first,
second and third cycle of study, 82 teachers and associates
full or part time while 12 employees work in administration.
Students acquire knowledge and skills at eight departments and
twenty-four lines of study. Institute of Musicology and Center for
Music Education operate within the Academy, which also hosts
the Musicological Society of FBiH. Academy is the founder
of ensembles and organizer of artistic seminars, schools,
workshops, festivals. It is one of few institutions that care for
BiH traditional and art music and music science, it is one of the
initiators of International symposium “Music in Society” and
co-published or periodical Muzika, and the founder of significant
musical events: May Music Festivities (since 2007), Sarajevo
Chamber Music Festival and Sarajevo Chamber Music Institute
(since 2011), Sarajevo Sonic Studio (since 2013), the initiator
of significant scientific projects (Fundamental Research for
Music in BiH, completed in 2010, Lexicon of Musicians in BiH,
Alphabetical List published in 2010, Processing of Cvjetko
Rihtman’s archives, etc.), a publisher of numerous compact discs
and written editions, a signatory of twenty-one international
agreement on cooperation with other academies in closer and
broader surroundings, together with other eleven academies in
closer and broader surroundings a participant in the European
Tempus program InMusWB (completed in 2014); our students
and teachers participate in local and international music
gatherings of different character; it is a sincere collaborator
of Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra and Opera of National
Theatre in Sarajevo; a firm support in cooperation with primary
and secondary music schools in Federation of Bosnia and
Herzegovina, etc., etc. Besides, Academy adopted the study
according to Bologna requirements of higher music education
and established the First, bachelor (in 2005/06), Second, Master
(in 2009/10) and Third, doctoral cycle of studies (in 2011/12).
Further, Academy is actively involves in the European music
education system via its membership in AEC and close contacts
with European musical institutions and experts, etc., etc.
PROSPECTS
In the area of 1037.22 m2, or 3.5 m2 per student, insufficiently
staffed, in the conditions of insufficient social interest reinforced
by economic and political crisis, in the market where five more
higher schools operate with some of the lines of music studies,
Academy is in all respects the leading music-education, as
well as artistic and scientific institution in BiH. In terms of
competence and competition, our position in BiH is stable and
constantly developing, However, if we look beyond BiH, we
cannot help wondering: Where are we, What are we, How much
are we? The reply is not necessarily negative if we forgive the
recent past being relentlessly unjust to us and if we realize that
the present is only what it is but that the future may be what we
want it to be and what we project as our educational, artistic and
scientific practice. The prospect for our future is the European
space of higher music education, which requires strong social
support, which we – of course- do not currently have, as well as
strong commitment of ourselves, students, teachers, associates,
administration, i.e. each individual for whom Academy is the
place of their life’s happiness. Mobilization of each individual
and all the internal individual knowledge and skills, willingness,
desire and possibilities is the main potential condition that
could lead us to some European music spaces at the moment,
which could – to be honest – last for the next five to ten years,
which is not a large time span in the history of an institution.
Everything beyond this is an individual opinion, useful only
when it becomes successful for common action, though more
often a purposeless lamentation and, I dare say, intellectual
misunderstanding that can only lead us to coming to terms with
the conditions of individual achievements, sporadic fulfillment
of an artistic or scientific wish, etc.
It is only if we accept the philosophy that by working for
ourselves we also work for the Academy, and that by working for
the Academy we work for ourselves, thus, only with this life and
academic logic, pedagogical attitude, artistic zeal and scientific
strictness, thus an overall philosophy of a whole where each
individual element is crucial can we transcend our own selves
and reach European creative peaks.
From my experience as a professor and the Dean, our creative
peaks have not been reached yet, and it is there that I see our
opportunity and possibility for better results than those we are
achieving at the moment. What does reaching creative peaks
mean? For this occasion, it is the mobilization of all individual
original potentials to the creative energy of the whole! On this
road, which can accurately be names as achieving and securing
quality over a long time period, which is the topical phrase of
the European music academies and our Sarajevo University, I
believe, we can respond to future challenges, requirements of
the Bologna higher education reform, we can make ourselves
and our students, who are the reason for our being here,
satisfied at least while we educate them, if not during their
entire professional lives.
On this abstract and practical background, I wish at this
place, where we create and present, to the public, events
within the program of celebration under the unique slogan: let
us be optimists, let us change the future, to each of us, on the
occasion of our 60 years of youth, the personal life and creative
happiness, institutional entry into new regions of higher music
education and Academy’s general status worthy of its name,
cultural mission and us who work within it.

publika postali stalnim i neizostavnim učesnikom Festivala i
cijele Koncertne sezone. U kontekstu jubileja posebno pažnju
posvećujemo našim međunarodnim umjetničkim i naučnim
partneri Muzičke akademije u Sarajevu, uz desetine drugih s
muzičkog stvaralaštva u Bosni i Hercegovini, čiji nastavnici i
studenti s razlogom nose zvanje majstora muzičke umjetnosti
i njenih najboljih promotora. Činjenica da se taj jubilej dešava
u školskoj 2014/15. godini, a zahvatit će i školsku 2015/16,
naše vizije o njenoj budućnosti koju i sami mislimo aktivno
graditi.
o pedagoškim uspjesima naših nastavnika i umjetničkim
Pored umjetničke produkcije naših studenata i nastavnika
koju promoviramo tokom cijele godine i redovnih aktivnosti
našeg kamernog i gudačkog orkestra, stvorili smo projekt
promocije najsavremenijih formi kompozitorstva u programu
ćemo cijeli program uspješno dovesti do savršenstva izvedbe
i opredmećenja u zvuku, govoru i pisanoj riječi. To je moguće
jedino uz maksimalan umjetnički i naučni angažman svih
zaposlenih i, naravno, studenata, ali i uz pomoć društvene
zajednice.
koncertnoj učionici Muzičke akademije i kroz programe
Koncertne sezone Muzičke akademije u Sarajevu s nama učite i
slavite vrhunska ostvarenja muzičke umjetnosti! Prodekan za koncertnu

Marking the 60th anniversary of Academy of Music in
Sarajevo makes us responsible for showing that this institution
is a fundamental institution of music education and music
creation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose teachers and
students are rightly named masters of music art and its best
promoters. The fact that the jubilee takes place in the 2014/15
academic year and that it will also enter the 2015/16 academic
year, while 2015 will be the central year, warns us that we are
already deep into the third millennium and that our activity must
reveal what music art means today and outline our visions of its
future that we ourselves intend to actively build. Therefore, you
will be faced with ambitious creations of our students which,
as a result of our regular production witness our teachers’
pedagogical success and our young artists’ artistic success.
Through these programs, we do not forget that music is a
language recognized by everybody, but is best understood by
those who teach about it. Convinced that access to top art is
the basic human right, we invite you to the open festive concert
classroom of Academy of Music and to the programs of the
Concert Season of Academy of Music in Sarajevo, to learn with
us and celebrate the top achievements of music art!
We did not want to accept the fact that the art music stage
in our city exists exclusively through festival events, and we
decided to cerate a permanent concert season feeling that it is
our responsibility to the society we act in. Besides our students
and teachers’ artistic production that we promote throughout the
year, and regular activities by our chamber and string orchestra,
we have designed a project of promoting the most modern forms
of composing in Sarajevo Sonic Studio program which, in this
season, presents to us Peter Ablinger and Vinko Globokar.
We have designed a number of projects with colleagues and
ensembles from abroad, the fifth Sarajevo Chamber Music
Festival, which gathers dozens of young musicians from the
region and other European and world countries, and attracted
thousands of those who, as active and dedicated audience
became a permanent and inevitable participant in the Festival
and the entire Concert season. In the context of jubilee, we pay
a particular attention to our international artistic and scientific
projects that we develop in the network of twenty-five European
music academies that have become partners of Academy of
Music in Sarajevo by signing agreements on cooperation,
together with a dozen of others that we cooperate with almost
daily.
As can be seen from the program, we are ambitious in
presenting a number of individual activities, some of which
require the maximum effort both in organizational and artistic
or scientific terms. We are convinced that we our entire
program will manage to reach perfection in performance and
achievement in sound, speech and written word. It is possible
only with the maximum artistic and scientific involvement of all
employees and students, as well as with the help of society.

TEACHING AND SCIENCE
NASTAVA I NAUKA
Muzička akademija u Sarajevu kroz 60 godina rada i
djelovanja promovira muzičku edukaciju, umjetnost i nauku
Bosnu i Hercegovinu, a i šire. U prilog tome govore i činjenice
da osnova svake pedagoške, umjetničke i naučne djelatnosti u
oblasti muzike u BiH potječe od bivših i sadašnjih studenata i
nastavnika Akademije. Znanja koja su stekli na Akademiji su
početna i značajna baza za nadgradnju kroz muzičku praksu
u školama, orkestrima, na koncertnim podijima, u naučnim
institucijama i sl.
krajeva BiH.
uvijek oko 10−15% stranih studenata.
Pored umjetničke produkcije nastavnici i saradnici se bave
naučno-istraživačkim radom što je samo u 2014. godini
rezultiralo promocijom četiri knjige iz oblasti etnomuzikologije
i muzičke teorije, također je objavljena i prva Antologija
klavirske muzike u Bosni i Hercegovini 1. Akademija u
kulturu Muzika i organiziranje Međunarodnog muzikološkog
simpozija “Muzika u društvu”, te će se 23−26. 10. 2014. godine
održati deveti simpozij po redu. Časopis Muzika i Zbornik
zemljama.
Broj bibliotečkih jedinica u biblioteci Muzičke akademije
u Sarajevu iznosi: knjige + notalije preko 17000 jedinica;
periodika blizu 3000 svezaka; audio-vizuelni materijal 4200
jedinica; diplomski, magistarski i doktorski radovi oko 1000
jedinica. U fondu se nalaze ostavštine uglednih profesora
Mladena Pozajića, Miroslava Špilera, Mladena Stahuljka,
Milana Jeličanina, Nade Ludvig-Pečar, Vinka Krajtmajera, te
pokloni profesora Ankice Petrović i Zije Kučukalića. Posebno
vrijedan je legat prof. Cvjetka Rihtmana u vidu 444 audio trake
predavanja, workshopovi, ogledni sati i sl. Time Akademija
doprinosi povećanju iskorištenosti znanja kao svog ključnog
resursa.

23-25/10/2014 the ninth symposium will be held. Muzika journal
and symposium Proceedings are extremely well accepted in
BiH, as well as in other countries.
Over sixty years of its activities, Academy of Music in Sarajevo
has been promoting music education, arts and science as an
educational and cultural institution of special significance for
Bosnia and Herzegovina and broader area. This is supported
by the facts that the basis of each pedagogical, artistic and
scientific activity in the area of music in BiH originates from
former and present Academy students and teachers. The
knowledge they acquired at the Academy form the starting and
significant basis for superstructure through musical practice at
schools, orchestras, on concert stages, at scientific institutions,
etc. Other musical institutions both in Sarajevo and in BiH
could not work without this staff.
Academy of Music has been actively involved in the Bologna
process of higher music education since the 2005/06 academic
year. One of the system characteristics is that the studies are
structured into three cycles. Study programs are compatible
with those of most European higher-education musical
institutions. Academy includes 8 departments with 25 lines of
study, as well as the Institute of Musicology. Students from all
parts of BiH study at the Academy. Student population at the
First and Second cycle of studies consists of 300-350 students
every academic year, some 10-15% always being international
students.
Besides artistic production, teachers and associates are
also involved in research which, only in 2014, resulted in the
promotion of four books in the area on ethnomusicology and
music theory, as well as in publishing the first Antologija
klavirske muzike u Bosni i Hercegovini 1. In cooperation with
Musicological Society of FBiH, Academy has a significant
scientific engagement. Together they initiated publishing of
the journal for musical culture Muzika and the organization of
International musicology symposium “Music in Society”; on
The number of library units in Music Academy library is as
follows: books + sheet music – over 17,000 units; periodicals
– almost 3000 volumes; audiovisual material – 4200 units;
graduation, master’s and doctoral theses – around 1000
units. The holdings include legacies of respectable professors
Mladen Pozajić, Miroslav Špiler, Mladen Stahuljak, Milan
Jeličanin, Nada Ludvig-Pečar, Vinko Krajtmajer, and gifts by
professors Ankica Petrović and Zijo Kučukalić. A particular
value is attached to prof. Cvjetko Rihtman’s legacy, which
consists of 444 audio tapes which has been digitalized this
year owing to extraordinary efforts of teachers and associates
at ethnomusicology department and in cooperation with
Fonogram archives of Austrian Academy of Science; thus, it has
become available for future valuable research.
Academy also founded Alumni Association of Academy
of Music in Sarajevo (AAMAS). Support to LLL programs
(Lifelong Learning Program) is achieved through Centre for
Music Education. The programs are delivered as day-long
lectures, workshops, demonstration lessons, etc. In this way
Academy contributes to increased utilization of knowledge as
its key resource.

MEĐUNARODNA
SARADNJA
INTERNATIONAL
COOPERATION
Muzička akademija učestvuje u međunarodnim projektima
od kojih treba izdvojiti Widening Participation on the Road to
Membership finansiran od strane Švedske organizacije Sida,
zatim Introducing interdisciplinarity in music studies in the
Western Balkans in line with European perspective (InMusWB)
u okviru Tempus programa Evropske zajdenice. U okviru ova
dva projekta obavljeno je preko 30 izuzetno korisnih aktivnosti,
od koncertnih djelatnosti do objavljivanja i promocije knjiških
izdanja.
muzičkih akademija i konzervatorija.
red. prof. Faruk Sijarić uspostavlja saradnju s Kraljevskom
muzičkom akademijom u Stockholmu. Ovo je bio jedan od
prvih koraka na polju međunarodne saradnje izneđu Muzičke
akademije Sarajevo i drugih evropskih visokoškolskih muzičkih
institucija. Pored toga, uspostavlja se saradnja i sa Muzičkom
akademijom iz Karlsruhea (Njemačka). Rezultat ove saradnje
bila je veličanstvena izvedba Beethovenove Simfonije br.
9, u zajedničkoj produkciji Muzičke akademije iz Sarajeva
i Hoschschule für Musik iz Karlsruhea u velikoj dvorani
Skenderije pred oko 4000 posjetilaca.
Danas, na pragu svog šezdesetog rođendana, Muzička
akademija u Sarajevu je respektabilna, evropska akademija i
siguran i poželjan partner mnogim institucijama u međunarodnim
umjetničkim i naučnim projektima i svim drugim vidovima
saradnje.
At present, Academy of Music in Sarajevo has signed
agreements on cooperation with almost thirty higher-education
musical institutions across the world. These agreements are not
on paper only; rather, many of them are accompanied by intense
cooperation between the partner institutions, and thus Academy
students and teachers often have the opportunity to appear on
the European musical stage, be members of orchestras, and
attend seminars run by top-class pedagogues and musicians,
attend classes or teach at partner academies.
Today, at the threshold of its sixtieth anniversary, Academy
of Music is a respectable European academy, and a reliable
and desirable partner to many institutions in international
artistic and scientific projects, as well as in all other forms of
cooperation.
Academy of Music often hosts international scientific
gatherings and organize international musicians’ concerts.
A very significant aspect in this area is the establishment of
Sarajevo Chamber Music Festival in cooperation with famous
Manhattan String Quartet, which our audience has had the
pleasure to enjoy as many as four times by now!
Academy of Music participates in international projects,
the notable ones being Widening Participation on the Road
to Membership, financed by Swedish organization SIDA, then
Introducing interdisciplinarity in music studies in the Western
Balkans in line with European perspective (InMusWB) within
the Tempus program of the European Union. These two projects
have involved over thirty extremely useful activities, starting
from concerts to publishing and promoting books.
Danas Muzička akademija u Sarajevu danas ima potpisane
ugovore o saradnji sa gotovo 30 visokoškolskih muzičkih
ustanova diljem svijeta. Ovi sporazumi nisu svrha sami sebi,
partnerskim akademijama.
Vrlo često je Muzička akademija domaćin međunarodnih
naučnih skupova, kao i organizator koncerata internacionalnih
umjetnika. Veoma značajan vid rada na ovom polju je i
osnivanje Sarajevo Chamber Music Festivala, u kooperaciji s
čuvenim Manhattan String Quartetom, u kojem je naša publika
uživala već četiri puta!
Immediately upon the end of the war and aggression (1992/95)
in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Dean of Academy of Music of
the time, professor Faruk Sijarić established cooperation with
the Royal Music Academy of Stockholm. It was one of the first
steps in the area of international cooperation between Academy
of Music in Sarajevo and other European higher-education
music institutions. Besides, cooperation was established with
Academy of Music in Karlsruhe (Germany). The result of the
cooperation was a magnificent performance of Beethoven’s
Symphony number 9, jointly produced by Academy of Music in
Sarajevo and Hoschschule für Musik of Karlsruhe in the large
Skenderija hall, before around 4000 audience.
