Snaga globalnih simbola
sistemu oblika u prostoru mogućeg i stvarnog. Preformulacijom trivijalnih detalja i izmiještanjem u urbani kontekst, njihov uobičajeni smisao dobija ironijsku snagu i metaforičnost, koju
često nije jednostavno sagledati. Tako zatvorena u sopstvenu znakovitost i ograničeno polje
slike, poruka ostaje element autentičnog vizuelnog objekta.
Svaki Vukotićev figuralni element definisan je jakom konturnom linijom, i bez modelovanja, kao dvodimenzionalni otisak, ponekad totemski uobličen i osmišljen. Figure, koje nijesu
humornosti, blage ironije i suzdržanog cinizma.
dobija primarni značaj (Etar, Plavo i zeleno...). Kolorit prati suženi motivski izbor i, ponekad,
slika ostaje govor u dva-tri tona.
Ali jeste domet i njegov sve prepoznatljiviji značaj u prostoru savremene crnogorske umjetnosti.

The Power of Global Symbols
AleksandarVukotić’spaintings are a complex scenography for the saga of a unique symbiosis
and system of forms in the space of the possible and the real.Reformulation of details and their
dislocation to an urban context give their meaning the power of irony and metaphor, often not
easy to grasp. Closed in its own system of signs and meaning and the confined space of the
painting, the message remains an element of an authentic visual object.
Each of Vukotić’s figural elements is defined by a strong contour line, without modelling,
as a two-dimensional print, at times shaped and conceived as a totem. The origin of figures,
not exclusivelyhomoidbut representing an unusual correlation between beings and material
objects, is in most cases recognizable. Sometimes they are global brands brought to a ‘new
reading’, viewed with fatigue or in the context of additional deliberation. In this sense, Slobodan
Slovinić is right to conclude that“almost all of Vukotić’s works are characterized by a kind
of restrained humour, mild irony andcontrolled cynicism. His works are not explanatory,
descriptive or literary…” The initial diversity of objects, which conditioned the complexity of
colouring (Context), was gradually purified and redirected to the groups of a small number of
interconnected elements, because of which the atmosphere or the colour basis of ‘events’ gain
primary importance(Ether, The Blue and the Green, etc). The colouring is accompanied by a
reduced selection of motifs and at times the painting remains a two- to three-tone expression.
Transformation of an object into a coloured energy field does not imply the impoverishment of
imagination but rathershows its focus on the power of symbols.
Vukotić’s poetics has not substantially changed since the artist’s previous exhibition, but his
achievements and his increasing recognition in contemporary Montenegrin art have certainly
gained in importance.

Piktoglifi interferencije
… Prostor Vukotićevih slika nam pokazuje uvek samo takoreći svoju prednju stranu. U
slici, on sam ostaje površina, uskraćuje nam se. – Ukratko: Postoji nešto što je Vukotićevim
slikama zajedničko, ali upravo to ostaje najpre zagonetno. To , međutim, ujedno znači da
ostaje zagonetno, šta njegova slika po svom pojmu jeste.
Time ćemo se upravo sada pozabaviti.
to znači: strukturu dogođenosti.

Pictoglyphs of interference
... The space in Vukotić’s paintings , shows us always its front side. In the painting, the space
itself remains the surface, it is denied to us. - In short: There is something that is common
to Vukotić’s paintings, but exactly that stays puzzling. That, however, also means that stays
puzzling, which his painting according to its term is.
Since we cannot immediately give some positive definition of these pieces, let us take the
easier way – via negationis: Vukotić’s painting, in its essence, is evidently not “representation”
of persons, objects etc, at least not of those that we know from everyday life, or more correctly:
that we think we know what they are and what they are like. But I am sure that it is not mere
product of imagination. It is neither sheer reflection of the “real” world nor singular fantasy
of the artist. Finally, his painting does not engage with some story-telling, it does not narrate
about some event.
What is it then? According to the artist, all of his paintings were initialized by some event
that he had experienced. However, none of them is a direct representation of those events.
As far as I can see it, almost every picture implies eventfulness, in sense: the structure of events.
Vukotić’s painting is what it is, by (verbatim) representations of a priori structured events.
World, as presented in Vukoti}’s paintings is one world. It is a world of dynamic interference
or: encounters (Vukotić: “communication”)...
