ABSTRACT
Lean production is a system that aims to eliminate all activities which have no contribution any
production process. Value stream mapping, which plays an important role for lean in production, is a
concept that describes all material and information flows present in a system on paper in order to
eliminate all elements of waste. In this study, the value stream was applied to a MDFlam production line
in a wood panel manufacturing firm. For this purpose, the current value stream map was created and key
points which did not contribute to the production process was determined. Later, the future state map is
drawn within the framework of alternative solutions. Wood panel production system being a continuous
production type, having rapid progress of the system, existing of inflexible heavy machinery makes it
difficult to run the value stream mapping.
