University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee (USFSM) is looking for a master of science in
hospitality management with 100% assistantship (100% tuition and monthly stipend) in the College
of Hospitality and Technology Leadership (CHTL). The student will pursue a Master of Science
degree in hospitality management while performing graduate assistantship services to the
Information Technology program under the College of Hospitality and Technology Leadership.

Hospitality Management Master of Science Program
The Master of Science in Hospitality Management is a 36-credit hour program offered through USFSM’s
CHTL. The program will educate students to use strategic development techniques in a variety of private,
public and institutional sectors of hospitality environments. Graduates of this program will go on to play a
vital role in addressing the changes and challenges in the hospitality industry within our region, state,
nation and world. An effective hospitality leader must possess a wide range of strategic and conceptual
skills. Our program is designed to foster strong analytical skills, technological abilities, effective
communication and strong logical ethical approaches to the hospitality industry and academia. More

The selected student will serve as a teaching and graduate assistant for the Information Technology (IT)
program. CHTL offers a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. The student will serve as a tutor and
teaching assistant in IT classes. In addition, the student will be given IT related projects in CHTL. The
assistantship will cover 100% of the tuition (approx. $20,000) and provides a monthly stipend of $950 per
month. In addition, health insurance will be also paid by CHTL. The total value of the assistantship for two
years is over $70,000. The student is expected to work 20 hours per week.
The successful candidate should have/submit:
1) Undergraduate degree from Computer Science, Information Technology or closely related fields
with 3.0/4.00 GPA or higher
2) If the candidate is international, 550 (Paper based), 79 (Internet based) score in TOEFL or 6.5 IELTS
3) GRE or GMAT score
4) 3 “excellent” references
5) Excellent communication skills

7) Electronic Portfolio of professional achievements (i.e. websites designed, samples of projects)
8) Transcript (if the transcript from non-U.S. university, it must be evaluated by USF approved
