u organizaciji n-ost-a
Od 27. do 30. septembra 2012 u Beogradu
Tekst na engleskom i srpskom
“Between Ex-YU and EU – New interpretation of a fractured region” will be the
subject of the International n-ost media conference in Belgrade. Around 100
journalists from the Western Balkans, Germany and other European countries
will meet from September 27-30, for discussion and joint research. Within the
framework of the conference, local journalists get tools to use their national
freedom of information laws as a regular part of their work.
n-ost media conference: Between Ex-YU and EU – New interpretation
of a fractured region
In March 2012 Serbia succeeded in acquiring candidate status in the European
Union. That is one of the reasons why n-ost invites journalists and photographers
to exchange with regional actors, representatives of international organisations
and NGOs.
The aim is to engage in a professional dialogue about the situation of the media
and working conditions for journalists in their countries. The participants will also
look at the successor states of Yugoslavia from a comparative perspective, in
order to explore political, social and media trends - both outside and inside the
EU: What is the relationship between the fractured small ex-Yugoslav states and
the EU? Is there a potential for the emergence of a new sub-region within the
EU? What answers do journalists and media outlets find regarding the challenges
of changing media landscapes?
Legal Leaks Training: Access to information as a tool for journalistic
research
The Legal Leaks training empowers journalists from ex-Yugoslavia to use their
national freedom of information laws as a regular part of their work. The training
provides guidance on how to file freedom of information requests and delivers
techniques by which journalists can protect the security of their data. The
training also covers data journalism by providing strategies on how to process,
analyse and present data.
