MUNDUS
EM is a project financed by European Commission, for
countries of the Western Balkan. Thanks to the good
organisation and coordination of its activities, University of Sarajevo
participates in every EM project since 2008. Those projects were:
JoinEU-SEE, BASIELUS, EM2STEM, ERAWEB, EUROWEB and SIGMA. The
main goal of these projects is contribution to stronger academic,
cultural, political and economical cooperation between member states
of European Union and countries of Western Balkans, enforcement of
the international relations for students and members of staff,
experience exchange in knowledge and research, mutual teaching,
training, innovation and “know-how” transfer. The calls for Erasmus
Mundus mobility programs (JoinEU-SEE, Basileus, Sigma and Euroweb)
are over. The Eraweb programe will end on April 1st 2013. From
deadline until the middle of May coordinators will bring decision based
on validation of the documents provided by candidates. The results in
may will shows which EU and WB students and members of staff got a
chance to spend certain period of their mobility at their host
universities. International Relations Office of the University of Sarajevo
held many presentations on premises of higher education institutionsl.
Also, Eramsus Mundus coordinators heald various promotional
awareness activities on the Western Balkanas. Potential applicants had
their oportunity to ask questions about mobility programs. Afterwards,
an presentation was held, where beside the programs facts and figures,
all representatives from EU countries who were present in Bosnia and
Herzegovina presented themselfs and their universities. EU participants
were satisfied with showed interest, as well as knowledge of foreign
languages that BH’s students have.
ERASMUS MUNDUS je projekat koji finansira Evropska
Komisija, a namijenjen je zemljama Zapadnog Balkana.
U konkursu za akademsku 2013/2014. godinu prijavljeno je 120
studenata i akademskog osoblja iz EU i 350 studenata, nastavnika i
saradnika sa UNSA. U maju 2013. godine će biti poznati rezultati i
stipendisti, a sa procesom mobilnosti počinju od septembra 2013.
godine.
This call for academic 2013/2014 attracted 120 studentes and staff
from EU to UNSA, and 350 students and staff members from UNSA
to EU partner universities. The results will be anounced in May
2013, a mobility oficially starts in September 2013.
Zahvaljujući dobroj organizaciji i koordinaciji aktivnosti ispred Službe za
međunarodnu saradnju, od 2008. godine Univerzitet u Sarajevu je
ravnopravni partner Erasmus Mundus programa i svih dosadašnjih projekata
mobilnosti: JoinEU-SEE, BASIELUS, EM2STEM, ERAWEB, EUROWEB i SIGMA.
Ciljevi ovih projekata je jačanje akademske, kulturne, političke, i ekonomske
saradnje između zemalja članica Evropske unije i zemalja Zapadnog Balkana,
jačanje kapaciteta međunarodne saradnje univerziteta zemalja Zapadnog
Balkana, razmjenjujući iskustva i znanja u organizaciji programa mobilnosti
za studente, nastavnike i saradnike s ciljem studiranja, zajedničkog izvođenja
nastave, obuke, istraživanja, i prenosa 'know-how' i inovacija, te jačanje
akademskih, jezičkih kao i društvenih i interkulturnih kompetencija
studenata, nastavnika i saradnika. Konkursi za EM su završili. Ostao je još
konkurs za program ERAWEB koji završava 1. aprila 2013. godine. Od isteka
roka za prijavu pa do maja 2013. godine koordinatori programa će vijećati i
donijeti odluku o stipendistima bazirano na verifikaciji dokumenata koje su
dostavili kandidati. Rezultati u maju će pokazati koji će kandidati iz EU i
zemalja Zapadnog Balkana dobiti šansu da provedu određeni period
vremena njihove mobilnosti na partnerskim univerzitetima. Služba za
međunarodnu saradnju je održala dosta prezentacijama na fakultetima i
akademijama UNSA. Također, koordinatori EM programa su održali info
sajme i svim zainteresiranim studentima, nastavnicima i saradnicima
predstavili programe, stipendije, nacin prijave i uvjete prijavljivanja. Nakon
kratkotrajnog sajma, uprilicena je prezentacija programa tokom koje su se
predstavili EU partneri koji su došli promovirati svoje programe ali i
univerzitete. Partneri su zadovoljni pokazanim interesom i pokazanim
znanjem stranog jezika koje posjeduju studenti, te se nadaju da cemo na ovaj
način uspjeti povećati broj prijava bh. univerziteta za ove projekte.

KICK-OFF
U petak i subotu (01. i 02. februar 2013. godine) u
Rektoratu Univerziteta u Sarajevu održan je dvodnevni
inicijalni sastanak predstavnika partnerskih institucija u Tempus
projektu „Reforma nastavnog plana i programa nauka o baštini u
Bosni i Hercegovini“ (BIHERIT – Curricular reform of heritage
sciences in Bosnia and Herzegovina). Ovim projektom vrši se
proces modernizacije nastavnog plana i programa na tri
univerziteta u Bosni i Hercegovini (na Univerzitetu u Sarajevu,
Univerzitetu u Tuzli i Univerzitetu u Banjoj Luci) iz oblasti historije
i arheologije. Reforma programa uključuje sljedeće aktivnosti:
- reforma master studija arheologije na Univerzitetu u Sarajevu;
- modernizacija bachelor i master studija iz oblasti historije na
sva tri univerziteta gdje bi se predstavili moduli iz oblasti baštine,
arheologije, historije umjetnosti, te očuvanje/konzerviranje i
studije o muzejima.
Partneri u projektu: Univerzitet u Sarajevu (Bosna i Hercegovina)
– koordinator, Univerzitet u Ljubljani (Slovenija), Univerzitet u
Primorskoj (Slovenija), Univerzitet u Beču (Austrija), Institut za
arheološka istraživanja McDonald u Kembridžu (Velika Britanija),
Slobodni univerzitet u Berlinu (Njemačka), Univerzitet u Tuzli
(Bosna i Hercegovina), Univerzitet u Banjoj Luci (Bosna i
Hercegovina), i Komisija za očuvanje nacionalnih spomenika
Bosne i Hercegovine.
Projekat BIHERIT će trajati dvije godine, od oktobra 2012. do
oktobra 2014. godine.
MEETING
SASTANAK
At the UNSA Rectorate on Friday and Saturday (0102/02/2013), the two-day kick off meeting for the
Tempus Project «Curricular Reform of Heritage Sciences in
Bosnia and Herzegovina – BIHERIT» was held. This project
focuses on carrying out the curriculum modernization at three
BH universities (Universities of Sarajevo, Tuzla and Banja Luka) in
the area of history and archeology. The program’s reform
includes the following activities:
- Reforming the master studies from archeology at the University
of Sarajevo;
- Modernization of BA and MA bachelor and master studies in
history at all three universities where modules in the area of
heritage, archeology, art history, conservation/preservation and
museum study would be presented.
Partners in the project are: University of Sarajevo (Bosnia and
Herzegovina)- the coordinator, University of Ljubljana
(Slovenia), University of Primorska (Slovenia), University of
Vienna (Austria), McDonald Institute for Archaeological
Research (UK), Free University of Berlin (Germany), University of
Tuzla (Bosnia and Herzegovina), University of Banja Luka (Bosnia
and Herzegovina), and the Commission for Preserving B&H
National Monuments.
The BIHERIT project will last two years: from October 2012 to
October 2014.

Cilj je da se kroz ovaj projekat razviju soft-skills akademskih
profesionalaca na partnerskim univerzitetima sa područja
Zapadnog Balkana te da se razviju njihove sposobnosti i vještine,
kako bi unaprijedili prijenos znanja studentima, njihovo
istraživanje i doprinos društvu. U saradnji sa Univerzitetom u
Sarajevu (kao koordinatorom), ovaj projekat je prijavljen za
Tempus grant u 2013. godini. Ukoliko se odobri Tempus grant, ovaj
projekat će proširiti broj EU partnera i partnera sa Zapadnog
Balkana, što će dovesti do jače distribucije i implementacije
projekta TRAIN.
U martu 2013. godine, Fondacija Kralja Baudouina
organizovala je kick-off (inicijalni) sastanak u Briselu
povodom novog projekta koji započinje u saradnji sa Evropskim
partnerima i partnerima sa područja Zapadnog Balkana. Naziv
projekta je TRAIN (Obuka i istraživanje za novo akademsko
osoblje). Cilj projekta je razvoj programa za obuku i evaluaciju
profesionalnog razvoja akademskog osoblja (doktoranata,
asistenata, mlađih profesora, post doktorskih istraživača) kroz 7
modula/kurseva do 2016. godine. Projekat će se odvijati na četiri
zapadno-balkanska univerziteta: Sarajevo, Novi Sad, Beograd i
Podgorica.
On 12-13 March 2013, King Baudouin Foundaton
organized kick-off meeting in Brussels regarding the new
project that they started with EU and WB partners. Project’s name
is TRAIN (Training & Research for Academic Newcomers). The
objectives of the project are to develop, implement and evaluate a
structured professional development training program consisting
of 7 modules by 2016 for academics (PhD students, assistants,
junior professors, post-docs of not more then three years work
experience) at 4 participating universities in the Western Balkans:
University of Sarajevo, Novi Sad, Belgrade and Montenegro. The
project aims to develop a new cadre of academic professionals
within the partner universities of the Western Balkans. Through
the project the academics will build the skills, motivation and
confidence to enhance their own practice in ways that will
improve student learning, their own research and their
contribution to society. Together with University of Sarajevo (as a
coordinator) this project applied for Tempus grant in 2013. If
received, project will expand on more EU and WB partners.

U o kviru p ro j ekta St u d ent s ko
preduzetništvo/poduzetništvo, koji realizira Centar za
istraživanja i studije GEA, a podržava Američka agencija za
međunarodni razvoj (USAID), počeo je edukativni program Imam
ideju. U okviru promocije programa održane su info prezentacije
na kojima je studentima predstavljen projekat i predstojeće
takmičenje za najbolju poslovnu ideju. Prezentacije su održane na
Univerzitetu u Banjoj Luci, Univerzitetu u Sarajevu i Sveučilištu u
Mostaru, koji su partneri ovog projekta.
U ponedjeljak 18. marta 2013. godine počeo prvi trodnevni
training modul o temi „Kako do dobre poslovne ideje?”. Kroz četiri
training modula studentima i studenticama će biti pružena prilika
da kroz interaktivne i praktične radionice i predavanja nauče kako
da svoje ideje pretvore u poslovne planove. Nastavu vode istaknuti
stručnjaci i već dokazani preduzetnici iz BiH koji će studentima
prenijeti svoja znanja i iskustva.
Nakon odslušane četrnaestodnevne nastave polaznici će dobiti
certifikat o učešću u Školi za poslovne ideje kao i šansu da timski ili
pojedinačno kandidiraju svoje poslovne planove za finansiranje.
Autori devet najboljih poslovnih planova, po tri u Banjoj Luci,
Mostaru i Sarajevu, osvojit će nagradu od 4000 USD. Pored toga, za
učesnike programa osigurane su i dodatne vrijedne nagrade.
Također, prijavljeni će i ove godine moći aktivno učestvovati na
Poslovnom forumu mladih, koji će biti organiziran krajem godine,
radi razmjene iskustava i ideja kao i spajanja predstavnika
privrede, obrazovanja, vladinog i nevladinog sektora, medija te
međunarodnih organizacija.
Projekat podržavaju m:tel kompanija, ASA Group i Hypo Alpe Adria
banka.

Within the Student Entrepreneurship project,
implemented by Center for Research and Studies GEA,
and supported by the U.S. Agency for International Development
(USAID), an «Imam ideju» educational program began. Within
program’s promotion, info presentations were held where
students got acquainted with the project and the upcoming
competition for the best business idea. The presentations were
held at the Universities of Banja Luka, Sarajevo and Mostar, which
are project partners.
On Monday 18 March 2013, began the first part of three-day
training entitled "How to find a good business idea?". Students will
get an opportunity to learn, through interactive and hands-on
workshops and lectures, in four training modules how to
transform their ideas into business plans. Prominent experts and
entrepreneurs from B&H are giving lectures allowing students to
receive their knowledge and experience.
After taking classes lasting for two weeks, participants will receive
a Business Idea School participation certificate, as well as the
chance to nominate for financing their business plans either as a
team or individually. Authors of nine best business plans, three in
Banja Luka, Mostar and Sarajevo, will win a prize of 4000 USD. In
addition, additional prizes are provided for program participants.
This year also, applicants will be able to actively participate in the
Youth Business Forum, which will be organized at the end of the
year, in order to exchange experience and ideas, as well as to
connect representatives of the economy, education, government
and non-government sector, media and international
organizations.
This project is supported by m:tel company, ASA Group and Hypo
Alpe Adria Bank.

U sklopu redovne informativne kampanje koju

predstavnici Američke ambasade, u utorak 12. marta u
12,00 sati u Rektoratu Univerziteta u Sarajevu održana je
informativna sjednica o temi bilateralnih programa
akademskih razmjena koje nudi Američka vlada putem
State Departmenta za akademsku 2014/2015. godinu.
Sve ponuđene programe u potpunosti finansira
Američka vlada putem svog Ministarstva za obrazovanje
i kulturu.
Trenutno su otvoreni konkursi za sljedeće programe

Within regular information campaigns, each year
organized by the U.S. Embassy, in the UNSA
Rectorate on 12 March at 12:00, an information session
on the topic of bilateral academic exchange programs
that are offered by the U.S. Government through the
State Department for the academic year 2014/2015 was
held. All offered programs are entirely funded by the U.S.
government, through its Ministry of Education and
Culture.

ponedjeljak 11. marta 2013. godine prezentirani
stipendijski programi Vlade Republike Turske za
akademsku 2013/2014. godinu.
Stipendijske programe za dodiplomske, postdiplomske i
doktorske studije za akademsku 2013/2014. godinu
prezentirali su predstavnici Instituta Yurt Dışı Türkler ve
Akraba Topluluklar Başkanlığı, instituta koji se bavi
organiziranjem i provođenjem stipendijskih programa
koje Vlada Republike Turske svake godine dodjeljuje
studentima iz više od 100 zemalja širom svijeta,
uključujući i Bosnu i Hercegovinu.

deals with organizing and implementing scholarship
programs which are being granted each year to students
from more than 100 countries around the world by the
Government of the Republic of Turkey, including Bosnia
and Herzegovina.

Univerzitet u Sarajevu je posvećen koordinaciji
aktivnosti i razvoja međunarodnih odnosa s
partnerskim univerzitetima i ostalim nastavnim, istraživačkim i

svijeta. Kroz učešće u raznim programima, jača se

UNSA accepted to be a partner in 22 Tempus proposals.
University of Sarajevo aims to coordinate activities and
develop international relations with partner
universities and other teaching and research institutions and
cooperation networks in Europe and the world. Main mission is
the strengthening the internationalisation of the University of
Sarajevo, introduction this institution as a modern European

INTERFACE MONITORING
Naglašeno je da će u narednom periodu na Univerzitetu u
Sarajevu zvanično biti otvoren i Interface centar, koji će biti
servisni centar studentima Sarajevskog univerziteta kada su u
pitanju aktivnosti cjeloživotnog učenja, razvoj karijere te
formiranje alumni asocijacije Univerziteta u Sarajevu.
U prostorijama Rektorata Univerziteta u Sarajevu je 18.
februara 2013. godine održana monitoring posjeta
Tempus ureda BiH povodom projekta „Interface“ (Developing
and setting up measures for initiating, enhancing and sustaining
Higher-Education-Society-Cooperation). Monitoring posjeti su
ispred Tempus ureda BiH prisustvovali direktor gospodin Suad
Muhibić i gospođa Aida Marić, a u ime Univerziteta u Sarajevu
prorektor prof. dr. Dženan Đonlagić, koordinator projekta. Na
sastanku je izvršena analiza do sada realiziranih aktivnosti u
okviru projekta „Interface“, te su pored standardnih procedura
procjene i kontrole realiziranih projektnih aktivnosti dogovoreni
i naredni koraci u procesu implementacije projekta na
Univerzitetu u Sarajevu. O projektnim aktivnostima koje slijede u
narednom periodu razgovarano je i na sastanku održanom 19.
februara, kojem su prisustvovali gospođa Maria Brunnhofer,
WUS Austrija, i prof. dr. Dženan Đonlagić, prorektor Univerziteta.
In the UNSA Rectorate premises on 18 February 2013, a
monitoring visit by the National B&H Tempus Office
regarding the «Interface» project (Developing and Setting up
Measures for Initiating, Sustaining and Enhancing HigherEducation-Society Cooperation) took place. Mr. Suad Muhibic,
Head of the National B&H Tempus Office and Ms. Aida Maric, on
behalf of the National B&H Tempus Office attended the
monitoring visit, whilst project coordinator Prof. Dr. Dzenan
Djonlagic, UNSA Vice-Rector represented the University of
Sarajevo. The analysis of so far implemented activities under the
"Interface" project was performed during the meeting, and in
addition to standard evaluation procedures and implemented
project activities control, participants agreed the next steps
regarding the project’s implementation process at the
University of Sarajevo.
The project activities that follow in the time to come were the
subject of the meeting of 19 February, which Ms. Maria
Brunnhofer, WUS Austria and Prof. Dr. Dzenan Djonlagic, UNSA
Vice-Rector had attended. An emphasis was made upon the fact
that in the future, at the University of Sarajevo, "Interface
Center" will be officially opened. That Center will be a service
center for University of Sarajevo students, when it comes to
lifelong learning activities, career development, and the UNSA
alumni association forming.

Quality in Research
U prostorijama Rektorata Univerziteta u Sarajevu održan je Benchmarking
Workshop u okviru implementacije Tempus projekta «Quality in Research».
Univerzitet u Sarajevu, kao koordinator projekta je predstavio dosadašnji rad i samo
provođenje projekta, gdje se dao pregled metoda i komunikacijskih linija ovog projekta.
Predstavljena je detaljna analiza dosad preduzetih aktivnosti, kao i ažurirani plan za 2013.
godinu. Također se posvetila pažnja budućnosti projekta i aktivnostima za njegovu
održivost.
In the premises of UNSA, «Benchmarking Workshop» was held as a part of Tempus
project «Quality in Research». UNSA, as coordinator, presented its work and
implementation of the project, where an overview on working methods/communication
lines was given. Co-ordinator provided an overview and detailed introduction to actions
implemented so far under the project, as well as joint update to the workplan for 2013.
Partners also discussed sustainability of the project for the next phase.
Univerzitet u Sarajevu je partner u projektu SHEQA (Strategic management of
Higher Education Institutions Based on Integrated Quality Assurance System). Tim
povodom u Mostaru je organizovan sastanak partnera gdje su predstavljene dosadašnje
aktivnosti u sklopu projekta. Predstavljen je i software «Study Programmes register» pri
čemu je održana i obuka za korištenje.
University of Sarajevo is a partner in Tempus project SHEQA (Strategic
management of Higher Education Institutions Based on Integrated Quality
Assurance System). Regarding the participation, training meeting was organized in Mostar.
After presentation of all activities that have been realized so far, new software «Study
Programmes register» was presented, after which training activites started for the
participants.
Embedding Quality Assurance in Doctoral Education (EQADE) je Tempus projekat u
kojem Univerzitet u Sarajevu učestvuje. Tim povodom, predstavnici UNSA su
prisustvovali drugom konzorcijskom sastanku u Palermu, Italija. Glavna tema sastanka je
bila elaboriranje procedura, sistema i procesa osiguranja kvalitete i napretka na doktorskim
studijima. Također, predstavljeni su EU modeli provođenja osiguranja koji bi mogli poslužiti
kao primjer BH univerzitetima.
Embedding Quality Assurance in Doctoral Education (EQADE) is another Tempus
project that University of Sarajevo participates in. Regarding this, representatives
of UNSA participated at the Second consortium meeting in Palermo, Italy. Main focus was
elaboration of procedures, systems and processes of quality assurance and advancement in
PhD education. A closer examination of trends and good practice models from EU HEI were
provided to the represetatives of BiH HEI.
Univerzitet u Novom Sadu, kao koordinator Tempus Projecta STREW (Building
Capacity for Structural Reform in HEI of Western Balkan Countries) je organizovao
sastanak članova Steering Committeeja na planini Jahorina, u Bosni i Hercegovini. Glavna
tema sastanka je bila implementacija predviđenih aktivnosti sa ciljem da promjene na
području visokog obrazovanja u zemljama Zapadnog Balkana budu uočljive.
University of Novi Sad as a co-ordinator of Tempus project STREW (Building
Capacity for Structural Reform in HEI of Western Balkan Countries) organized
Steering Committee meeting on moutain Jahorina (Bosnia and Herzegovina) to discussed
implemented activities with ambition to make visible changes in the WB higher education

ERASMUS–WESTERN BALKANS (ERAWEB) je
zajednički program mobilnosti između šest
partnerskih univerziteta sa Zapadnog Balkana i pet
partnerskih EU univerziteta. Studenti i akademsko/
neakademsko osoblje će imati priliku da studiraju,
predavaju i istražuju u inostranstvu iz oblasti medicinskih
i zdravstvenih studija, dok će partnerske institucije
razviti svoje profesionalne kapacitete, omogućiti bolje
istraživanje i povećati međunarodnu prepoznatljivost.
Konzorcij ERAWEB-a, predvođen prof. Albertom
Hofmanom, sastao se na Univerzitetu u Beogradu
(Srbija) gdje su uradili evaluaciju prvog konkursa,
smatrajući da je bio veoma uspješan, te da će drugi
konkurs (čiji je rok 1. april 2013. godine) biti još
uspješniji. Prethodno, prof. Hofman se sastao sa prof. dr.
Muharemom Avdispahićem, rektorom Univerziteta u
Sarajevu kako bi utvrdili saradnju na projektu ERAWEB.
Također, prof. Hofman je studentima medicinskih i
zdravstvenih nauka na UNSA prezentirao program
ERAWEB i njihove mogućnosti ukoliko se prijave.
ERASMUS–WESTERN BALKANS (ERAWEB) is a
joint mobility programme offered by six Western
Balkan universities and five EU universities. Students
and members of the faculty will benefit from the
opportunity to study, teach and research abroad in
clinical and health sciences, while the participating
universities will raise teaching capacities, build research
expertise and gain international visibility.
The ERAWEB consortium partners, headed by Professor
Albert Hofman, MD PhD, NIHES Science Director, met to
evaluate results of the first Call for Applications and
discuss the second Call for Applications (2013). The
meeting took place in the University of Belgrade
(Serbia). All agreed that the first Call had been
successful, hoping that the Second one (deadline: 1 April
2013) will be more sucessful. The previous day, Prof.
Hofman was a guest at the University of Sarajevo (Bosnia
and Herzegovina) where he met with the Rector, Prof. Dr.
Muharem Avdispahić, and presented ERAWEB and
research in medicine and the health sciences to
interested students.

Ova web stranica je razvijena od SPARKa, a finansirala ju je belgijska Fondacija
kralja Baudouina (KBF) s ciljem
promoviranja studentske mobilnosti na
Zapadnom Balkanu.

S4WB offers wide range of scholarships for students and researchers from Western
Balkans, and it gives an opportunity to receive information about financial support for
bachelor, master and doctoral studies. This database offers scholarship information of 17
study fields in 33 states across the Europe.
Education is important for contribution for integration to EU. That is way this database
offers simple approach to detailed information about possibilities of studying abroad,
and also information about financial support. S4WB will provide for the students of the
Western Balkan to gain new experiences in different cultural environment and to apply
those experiences after their return to home country.
